![]() ![]() While having a source of strength to draw from is important, surrounding yourself with the right team of people who have your best interest in mind is another critical piece to the puzzle. It will make the whole process that much easier. But what ever it is, find something to lean on. Others may find strength in something else all together. Now, they must find something more stable to lean on. That could be the physical pain of surgery, the countless hours of rehab, or dealing with the fact that you are barred from the playing field you’ve come to love and must watch your teammates from the sidelines.įor many athletes, the sport that they have been taken away from is something that they have leaned on for so many years while other things have gone wrong. With each injury, there will be new difficulties and each person will find different aspects of their recovery to be the most challenging. That being said I have also learned that every injury is an opportunity to build yourself back up and come back just as strong if not stronger. Sometimes there are just things you have no control over. Now six surgeries later, I’ve come to realize that sometimes there is nothing you can do to prevent it. No one wants to think it will be them, and many athletes put in hours of preventative work to make sure that it is not them. The ugly reality is that chances are if you play competitive sports for long enough you will suffer some form of an injury. ![]()
